Does Your Curing Light Have the Most Desirable Characteristics?
By Gordon J. Christensen
Key features that help ensure adequate polymerization are high intensity output; a large, uniform spot; 90° head with short height for access and alignment; broad spectral emission for thorough photo-activation; and adequate cure time, especially for deep resin layers. These features are found on many curing lights and are illustrated by the improved designs of both Fusion 5 and Valo Grand, which provide better intraoral access and more light where it’s needed for improved curing.
